As a promotion for their co-headlining tour Never Ending Summer Tour, 311 and The Offspring have released covers of each others' arguably best songs: "Down" and "Self Esteem".
Spurred on by the likes of Weezer covering both "Rosanna" and "Africa" from famed band Toto, these Nineties rockers from are trying the thing that worked for the other band from that same time period.
It's a pretty fun gimmick, I guess--provided they're good covers. Could you imagine the PR nightmare if they both sucked?
Personally I like 311's better.
